Wazobia FM’s OPJ Arrested for Allegedly Urinating in Drainage

Don't urinate in drainage, don't dump wastes on the road, don't litter Lagos or you maybe made accountable for it by Lagos laws.

This is how a popular Wazobia FM Radio presenter landed in big trouble after urinating in a drainage along his way home.

Pius-Junior Opute, often referred to as OPJ, is a presenter at Wazobia FM.

The 54-year-old was allegedly caught urinating in a drainage at Marwa Bus Stop, Lekki, Lagos and resisting arrest.
Yesterday Tuesday 20th May 2014, he appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, according to NAN – News Agency of Nigeria.
Prosecutors allege he committed the offence on May 12th by 8 PM, and refused to be arrested and obstructed a free flow of traffic around the Lekki Toll Plaza.
He is facing a two-count charge of urinating in a drainage and resisting arrest. The offense contravened Sections 117 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 and Chapter E5, (9e) of the Environmental Sanitation Law of Lagos State, 2011
He plead not guilty and was granted a bail of N20,000. The case has been adjourned to June 18 for further hearing.
