Woman quits marriage over sexual starvation

Ibadan – An Ibadan  Customary Court sitting at Mapo  on Monday dissolved the  eight-year-old marriage between one David Omodiminiyi and his wife, Nike, over complaints  of  sexual starvation and loneliness made  by the latter.

The court presided over by Mr  Henry Agbaje held that it was forced  to take the decision of ending the relationship due to the irreconcilable differences. Agbaje said all attempts to pacify Nike not to quit the marriage  through out of court settlement failed.
He also referred to Omodiminiyi’s testimony in which he  said he made efforts at reapproachment,  all to no avail.

“ I hereby put an end to the union between both of you  henceforth.
“Omodiminiyi shall be paying a monthly feeding allowance of N5, 000 for the upkeep of the two children,’’ Agbaje stated.

Nike had earlier narrated her ordeal, saying  Omodiminiyi had turned her to an “unused spare tyre’’ in her
matrimonial home.

“He had married a first wife before I got married to him and  he  is giving  her all the sexual satisfaction.

“ I can no longer endure the loneliness and sexual starvation.

“ He doesn’t need me; he is just helping  to waste my life  away. Though I have two children  for  him,  I am determined to move on,’’ she said.

But Omodiminiyi, who argued that he didn’t abandon her, said: “I have done all I could to satisfy and pacify her, but she has  remained adamant.’’ (NAN)
