Anxiety In Kogi Over New Commissioners

Category: Kogi News

Barely one week after the sacking of Kogi State commissioners by Governor Idris Wada, intense lobbying for the posts has heightened as most of the sacked commissioners have vowed to come back.

LEADERSHIP learnt that following the dissolution of the cabinet, many potential candidates had begun lobbying through godfathers, just as some others who want to make the new list have turned to spiritualists for assistance.

Sources at the seat of power revealed that Capt Idris Wada has concluded arrangements to submit the list to the state House of Assembly without delay to avoid any vacuum.

The idea of the dissolution of the state executive council was muted early this year but was put on hold to await the Supreme Court judgement on the governor’s election.

It was gathered that Wada wanted a brand new cabinet of technocrats and experienced politicians to fast-track his development agenda.

Our investigation confirmed that those who performed well in the dissolved cabinet might be re-appointed, while those who performed below average would be left out.

Presently, the house of the former governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has become a beehive of lobbyists.
