Shocking Confession Of A Graduate Who Specialises In Burglary

Two graduates, Olawale Peter and Olaiya Saheed were nabbed by policemen in Osun State less than 24hours after they stole goods worth N6million from a shop at Igbonna area of the state.

Osun State Commissioner of Police, Dorothy Gimba told newsmen that broke the suspects broke into an electronics/communication gadgets shop at Igbonna area in Osogbo and carted away laptops, digital cameras, phones and computer accessories valued at over N6million.

According to Dorothy, some of the stolen items were recovered from the 5-member gang. She gave the suspects’ names as Olawale Peter, Sunday Job, Olaiya Saheed, Ajagbe Babatunde and Adedeji Musibau.

While speaking with newsmen, Peter (32) who was the leader of the gang, said it was the devil who pushed him into the criminal act, as he claimed he never had any interest in stealing.

He said, “I am a computer and electrical engineer. I hold a Bachelor of Technology degree from Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso. I studied Computer Science and Engineering.

“We were five that carried out the operation. I was familiar with Uncle Joe’s shop because I used to buy things from there. Job and I planned the stealing initially but he brought some people. We entered the shop through the back. That day, we moved from my shop where the plan to break the shop was hatched. On December 22, 2013, we got to Uncle Joe’s shop around 10.30p.m. and took 32 laptops, eight NIKON cameras, memory cards and handsets.

“I was nabbed in my girlfriend’s house. I gave her one of the seven laptops that were given to me as my own share. I think detectives went to the house to question the father and he called me to his house. As I got there, policemen emerged and arrested me.

They all confessed to committing the crime but pleaded for leniency, promising not to go against the law again.
